Tree Capitator999 Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need an axe to chop trees or can I use anything?
You can use any tool or even your bare hands—axes, swords, pickaxes, or nothing at all will trigger the tree to break. The plugin doesn't care what you're holding, just that you destroy a log block.
Why are some trees not breaking completely?
Check your `max-break-distance` setting; if it's too low, the plugin stops searching before reaching the top of tall trees. You can also verify the tree is made of standard wood blocks—some modded or custom wood types may not be recognized.
How do I stop trees from breaking in certain areas like my base?
Use the guide 'Prevent Trees from Breaking in Specific Areas' to set up protected zones. Most setups use region plugins or the mod's own region config to disable Tree Capitator in those locations.
Does the plugin break leaves automatically or do I have to?
The plugin breaks leaves automatically if `leaf-destruction` is enabled in your config. It searches outward from the tree trunk up to the `leaf-search-radius` distance to find and remove connected leaves.
Will this mod lag my server if players chop huge trees?
The `max-break-distance` setting exists to prevent lag by limiting how many blocks break at once. Follow the 'Optimize Tree Capitator for Large-Scale Logging' guide to tune these values for your server's performance.
Does it work with cherry, mangrove, and other newer wood types?
Yes, the plugin handles all normal wood types including cherry, mangrove, and crimson stems. If a wood type isn't working, it may be a modded block that needs to be added to the config manually.
What happens to the wood blocks—do they drop as items?
All wood blocks drop as items on the ground just like normal mining, so you can pick them up immediately. The same applies to leaves if leaf-destruction is enabled.
Can I use this plugin with other tree-breaking mods?
Running multiple tree-breaking mods at once can cause conflicts or unpredictable behavior. Stick with Tree Capitator999 Plugin alone, or check the mod's documentation for known compatibility issues.
How far does the plugin search for connected wood blocks?
The search distance is controlled by the `max-break-distance` setting in your config. Higher values break bigger trees but use more server resources; lower values are safer for performance but may leave the top of tall trees behind.
Does it work on trees that are partially built or player-made?
The plugin breaks any connected wood blocks, so it will chop down player-built wooden structures if you hit a log. Be careful when breaking logs near builds, or use region protection to prevent accidental destruction.
