Troubleshoot a Failed Pet Transfer

Common Transfer Issues

If your pet transfer didn't work, check these common problems:

Verification Steps

1. Check the Player Name: Open your Book & Quill and verify the target player's name is spelled exactly right. Minecraft usernames are case-sensitive in some contexts—use the exact capitalization.

2. Confirm Pet Eligibility: Not all mobs can be transferred. Your pet must be a tameable mob that supports ownership (dogs, cats, parrots, etc.). Wild or untamed mobs cannot be transferred.

3. Verify Line of Sight: Make sure you're looking directly at the pet when you run the command. The pet must be visible and within a reasonable distance.

4. Check Mod Installation: Ensure the Transfer Pet Owner Mod is properly installed and enabled in your mod loader.

5. Try Again: Hold the Book & Quill, look at your pet, and re-execute /trigger transfer_pet_owner.

If the transfer still fails after these checks, the target player may not exist on your server, or there may be a compatibility issue with your mod setup.
