Transfer Pet Ownership to Another Player

Basic Transfer Process

Transferring your pet to another player is straightforward and requires only a Book & Quill.

1. Prepare the Book & Quill: Obtain a Book & Quill from your inventory or crafting table.

2. Write the New Owner's Name: Open the book and write the exact username of the player you want to transfer ownership to. Make sure the spelling is correct.

3. Position Yourself: Hold the Book & Quill in your hand and stand close enough to see your pet clearly.

4. Look at Your Pet: Face your pet directly so it's in your line of sight.

5. Execute the Command: Run /trigger transfer_pet_owner in the chat.

6. Confirm Success: If done correctly, the pet's ownership will transfer immediately. The new owner can now command and care for the pet.

Important Notes

Ensure you have the correct player name before executing the command—typos will cause the transfer to fail. The pet must be a mob that supports ownership (typically tamed mobs like dogs, cats, or other tameable creatures). Once transferred, you will no longer have control over the pet.
