Transfer a Pet to a Specific Player on a Multiplayer Server

Server Pet Transfer Guide

On multiplayer servers, transferring pets requires coordination with the receiving player to ensure they're ready to take ownership.

Before You Transfer

1. Confirm the Player's Exact Username: Ask the receiving player for their exact Minecraft username, including proper capitalization. Copy it directly from the player list if possible to avoid typos.

2. Notify the Player: Let them know you're transferring a pet to them so they're aware of the incoming ownership change.

3. Agree on Location: Decide where the transfer will happen. Meeting at a central location makes it easier.

Execute the Transfer

1. Write the Username: Create a Book & Quill and write the recipient's exact username inside.

2. Gather Your Pet: Bring your pet to the agreed location or ensure it's nearby.

3. Hold the Book & Quill: Keep it in your hand.

4. Look at Your Pet: Face the pet directly.

5. Run the Command: Type /trigger transfer_pet_owner.

6. Confirm with the New Owner: Ask them to verify they now have control of the pet by attempting to command it.

Once transferred, the new owner becomes fully responsible for the pet's care and can move it wherever they wish.
