How to Use Riptide for Fast Overworld and Nether Travel
Why It Beats Walking
With the mod's boosted launch power and the offhand water bucket trick, Riptide becomes a reliable movement tool anywhere — no storm required. You can cross ravines, climb cliffs, and skip terrain in a few seconds per launch.
Building a Launch Routine
1. Equip a Riptide trident in your main hand and a water bucket in your offhand.
2. Aim slightly upward (around 30–45 degrees) for maximum horizontal distance.
3. Hold right-click until the charge completes, then release.
4. While airborne, look where you want to go — you keep most of your momentum.
5. Land, immediately re-aim, and launch again to chain hops.
Nether and End Notes
- In the Nether, aim lower than you think — ceilings are close and a steep launch slams you into netherrack.
- Over lava, keep a second water bucket in your hotbar in case you land badly; the offhand one is for launching, not rescue.
- In the End, chaining launches between islands is faster than
bridging, but watch for the void on missed angles.
Safety
Carry Feather Falling or slow-falling potions. High power modifiers mean high fall damage when a launch goes wrong.
