Set Up a Synchronized Traffic Light System at an Intersection
Link Your Traffic Lights to a Controller
Traffic lights work best when synchronized. Start by placing your traffic light blocks at each corner of your intersection—use horizontal lights for standard road crossings and diagonal lights for angled intersections.
Next, obtain a Traffic Light Linker tool. Hold it and right-click each traffic light you want to control. All linked lights will glow or show a visual indicator confirming the connection.
Configure Timing and Cycles
Place a Traffic Light Controller block nearby—this is your command center. Right-click it to open the menu. Here you can set:
- How long the green phase lasts
- How long the yellow phase lasts
- How long the red phase lasts
Let the cycle complete one full rotation before leaving. The digital countdown timers on your lights will now display accurate remaining seconds for each phase. All linked lights will change in sync, preventing gridlock and creating smooth traffic flow through your intersection.
Tip: Place the controller in a hidden location like underground or behind a building for a cleaner look.
