Traffic Engine Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start building roads with this mod?
Place asphalt blocks in your desired road layout, then use the Paint Brush to add lane markings and symbols. You can choose from 6 asphalt styles (Default, Damaged, Heavy Damaged, Light, Dark, Dirty) and match them with corresponding slope blocks for elevation changes.
Why aren't my traffic lights syncing together?
You need to link all lights to a controller block using the Traffic Light Linker or Wrench, then open the controller menu to set timings. Make sure to let the light cycle complete one full round so the digital countdown timers calibrate accurately.
Can I change a street sign's design after placing it?
Yes, use the Pattern Catalogue item to instantly change a sign's shape and decal without breaking and replacing it. This works on double-sided, angled, and wall-mounted signs.
How do I make a bike lane?
Place bike lane dividers along your road to separate the bicycle path, then use the Paint Brush to apply bicycle logos onto the asphalt. The dividers are protective barriers that clearly mark the dedicated cycling area.
What's the difference between horizontal and diagonal traffic lights?
Horizontal traffic lights stay fixed in one orientation, while diagonal traffic lights auto-adjust to match the angle of your road. Both support digital countdown timers and can be linked to a controller.
Do speed bumps actually slow down mobs and players?
Yes, speed bumps have accurate collision boxes that affect movement. The mod includes both flat and wide speed bump variants for different road widths.
Can I display custom text on the LED boards?
Yes, programmable LED panels and large digital information screens let you display custom road text and messages. You can program them individually after placement.
Will this mod work with my old TrafficCraft roads?
The mod automatically converts older road setups from TrafficCraft without data loss when you load your world, so your previous builds are preserved.
How do I control multiple street lamps from one location?
Use the Wrench and Street Lamp Configuration Card to link street lamps to a central control system, similar to how you link traffic lights. Once linked, you can manage them together from the controller block.
What international signs are included?
The mod includes a wide collection of international road and warning signs for different countries and regions, letting you build realistic roads for various locations.
