Trade Refresh Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I refresh a villager's trades?
Open the trading menu with a villager you haven't traded with yet and click the refresh button added to the interface. This rerolls their trades the same way breaking and replacing their workstation would, but without any block movement.
Why can't I refresh a villager I already traded with?
The refresh only works on villagers whose trades are still locked in their original state. Once you complete a trade with a villager, their offers are permanent and the refresh button won't reroll them.
Does refreshing trades work the same as breaking the workstation?
Yes, the mod performs the same trade reset that happens when a workstation is broken and replaced. The difference is purely convenience: you skip the break-and-place cycle entirely.
How do I bind the refresh to a key?
Go into the mod's keybind settings and assign a key to the refresh action. Once bound, you can trigger a refresh without opening the trading menu manually, which speeds up work in large trading halls.
Why isn't the refresh button showing up in the trading menu?
Make sure the villager has a valid profession and workstation and that you haven't traded with them yet. If the button still doesn't appear, check for mod conflicts with other villager or trading mods.
Does the villager need a workstation for the refresh to work?
Yes, the villager must be linked to a workstation and have a profession for their trades to be refreshable. An unemployed villager has no trades to reroll.
Can I refresh trades on a villager in a trading hall without moving them?
Yes, that's the main use case. You can stand at the villager's trading menu and refresh in place, so you don't have to break the workstation or shuffle villagers around.
Will refreshing trades change the villager's profession or level?
No, refreshing only rerolls the trade offers. The villager keeps their profession and level, and only the specific trades they offer are replaced.
Is this mod compatible with other villager or trading mods?
It generally works alongside mods that don't overhaul the trading screen, but mods that replace the trading UI or villager trade logic can conflict. If the button misbehaves, test with only this mod enabled.
Does the refresh button cause lag in big trading halls?
No, a refresh is a lightweight trade reroll and doesn't add noticeable load even with many villagers nearby. Performance issues in trading halls usually come from other sources like entity or AI load.
