Trade Cycling Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start cycling trades?
Open a villager's trading GUI and look for the trade cycling button added by the mod. Click it to reroll the villager's current offers, or press the default keybind (C) while the GUI is open.
Why isn't the trade cycling button showing up?
Make sure you're opening a villager's trading screen, not a wandering trader or another container. If the button is hidden, check the mod's config for button position settings or reset them to default.
Does cycling trades cost anything or use up items?
No, cycling trades is free and doesn't consume emeralds, items, or villager XP. It simply rerolls the villager's current offer list as if you'd replaced their workstation.
Will cycling trades level up the villager or lock in trades?
Cycling only changes the current offers; it doesn't grant XP or level the villager. Once you trade with a villager, that specific trade becomes locked in, so cycle before trading if you want to reroll.
Can I cycle trades on a villager that's already been traded with?
Yes, you can still cycle, but any trade you've already used will stay locked and won't be replaced. Only unused trades get rerolled, so cycle before making your first trade for the best results.
What's the default keybind for cycling trades?
The default keybind is C, and it works while the trading GUI is open. You can change it in the mod's keybind settings if C conflicts with another mod.
How do I move the trade cycling button?
Open the mod's config screen and adjust the button position settings, or use the in-GUI customization option if available. This lets you place the button where it won't overlap other GUI elements.
Does this mod work on servers or only singleplayer?
It works in singleplayer and on servers where the mod is installed server-side or where the mod's mechanics are supported. On vanilla servers without the mod, the button and keybind won't function.
Is Trade Cycling compatible with other villager mods?
It generally works alongside mods that add new villager professions or trades, since it only rerolls existing offers. However, mods that heavily rewrite the trading GUI may cause button placement or keybind conflicts.
Does cycling trades cause lag or performance issues?
No, cycling is lightweight and only updates the villager's offer list when you press the button or keybind. Performance impact is negligible even with many villagers nearby.
