Tools 3D Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to do anything after installing the resource pack?
No setup required—just load the resource pack and it automatically replaces all tool and sword models in your world. The 3D models will appear immediately in your inventory and when you hold items.
Why do my tools still look flat?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled in your resource pack menu and positioned above any conflicting packs. If you're using another resource pack that modifies tools, move Tools 3D above it in the list so it takes priority.
Do the 3D models work with all tool types?
The pack updates all standard tools (pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes) and swords across wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite tiers. Specialized tools from other mods may not be included.
Can I use this with Better Combat?
Yes—the pack is designed to pair with Better Combat and makes combat animations look significantly more detailed and realistic with the thicker weapon models.
Do dropped items on the ground look 3D too?
Yes, when you drop tools or swords, they display with the same thick 3D models on the ground so they look consistent whether you're holding them or viewing them in the world.
Will this affect my FPS or performance?
The resource pack uses higher-polygon models, so performance impact depends on your system, but most players see minimal FPS loss since it only changes visual appearance, not game logic.
Does this work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use this on any server without needing admin permission or affecting other players.
Can I use this with other resource packs?
Yes, but if another pack also modifies tools, you need to order them correctly in your resource pack list—put Tools 3D above conflicting packs so it takes priority.
Do enchanted tools look different with this pack?
Enchanted tools keep their glowing effect and display on top of the new 3D models, so you'll see the thick realistic shape with the standard enchantment glow.
What if I want to disable it for certain tools?
Resource packs apply to all matching items at once, so you'd need to edit the pack files directly or use a different resource pack that only modifies specific tools.
