How to Get the Tool Trims Advancements (Shiny Tools and Tools of All Styles)
The Two Advancements
The data pack adds two advancements you can earn: Shiny Tools and Tools of All Styles. These are tracked in the advancements screen like any vanilla advancement, so you can see your progress there.
Earning Shiny Tools
Shiny Tools is the simpler of the two. It triggers when you successfully apply a trim to a tool or weapon for the first time. To do this, gather a Tool Trim Smithing Template and one of the five trim materials (Gold, Emerald, Redstone, Diamond, or Amethyst Shards), then use the Toolsmithing Table to apply the trim. As soon as the trim is applied, the advancement should pop.
Earning Tools of All Styles
Tools of All Styles is the completionist advancement. It requires you to try out the different trim styles rather than just one. Since there are four templates (Linear, Tracks, Charge, Frost) and five materials, you will need to apply multiple different combinations to your tools. Keep trimming different tools with different template and material pairings until the advancement triggers. A good approach is to dedicate one tool per template so you naturally cover all four patterns, then swap materials between them.
Tracking Progress
Open the advancements screen and look under the data pack's category to check which of the two you still need. Neither advancement requires rare drops beyond the templates and materials themselves.
