TNTUtils Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Where do I configure TNTUtils settings?
TNTUtils settings are configured in a config file located in your config folder (usually `config/tntutils.toml` or similar). After installing the mod, launch the game once to generate the default config, then edit it with a text editor and restart.
How do I completely disable TNT explosions?
In the config file, find the option to disable TNT explosions entirely (often labeled as disabling TNT damage or explosion size), and set it to true or 0 depending on the config format. Reload or restart your server/world for changes to take effect.
Can I stop TNT from destroying only certain blocks?
Yes, TNTUtils lets you whitelist or blacklist specific blocks in the config. You can either specify blocks that explosions CAN destroy (whitelist) or blocks that explosions CANNOT destroy (blacklist), depending on your preference.
Do I need to install this mod on clients if I'm running it on a server?
No, TNTUtils is a server-side mod, so installing it only on the server is sufficient. Clients do not need the mod installed to experience its effects.
How do I use the /explosion command?
Use `/explosion ` to trigger a custom explosion at specific coordinates with a specified radius. The command respects all your TNTUtils config settings, so explosions will follow your configured rules for damage and block destruction.
Will this mod affect explosions from other mods?
TNTUtils primarily affects vanilla TNT and Creepers. Custom explosions from other mods may or may not be affected depending on how those mods implement their explosions—there's no guarantee of compatibility.
How do I make Creepers not destroy blocks?
In the config, enable the option to prevent Creepers from destroying blocks (sometimes called 'environmentally friendly creepers'). This will allow Creepers to still damage players and mobs but leave the environment intact.
Can I prevent explosions from damaging players but still damage mobs?
Yes, TNTUtils has separate config options for disabling damage to players, mobs, animals, and items. You can mix and match these settings to allow explosions to damage only the entities you want.
What happens if I set the explosion size to 0?
Setting the explosion size to 0 will effectively disable explosions—TNT will detonate but cause no block destruction or damage. This is different from disabling TNT entirely, as the TNT will still be consumed.
How do I prevent explosions from destroying chests or other tile entities?
In the config, enable the option to prevent explosions from destroying tile entities. This will protect all block entities (chests, furnaces, etc.) from explosion damage while still allowing other blocks to be destroyed based on your other settings.
