Using TipTheScales on Older Minecraft Versions
Why Older Versions Benefit Most
On older Minecraft versions, the GUI Scale option was limited to a small set of preset buttons. TipTheScales replaces those presets with a slider and unlocks additional scale options that the vanilla game did not expose. This is the main reason to use the mod on legacy versions, where you otherwise cannot reach certain interface sizes.
Accessing the Extra Options
Open Options → Video Settings and find the GUI Scale entry. Where you previously saw only a few buttons, you now get a slider spanning a wider range. Drag it to reach values beyond the old presets — for example, scales that sit between the standard steps or extend past the largest preset. The preview updates live so you can judge each position.
Keeping It Stable
Because the mod is client-side, these extra scale options only change your own view and are safe to use on servers. If you also run performance or graphics mods, remember the known incompatibility with Optifine and Sodium — disable them if the slider misbehaves. After picking a value, exit the menu to apply it, and reopen the screen if the change does not take effect immediately.
