TierTagger Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get TierTagger to show tiers in game?
Once the mod is installed, tiers appear automatically next to player names in the tab list and above their heads. If nothing shows, make sure you are connected to a server and that the mod has finished fetching tier data.
How do I see my own tier with TierTagger?
Your tier is pulled from the tierlist using your Minecraft username, so it will display anywhere your name appears, such as the tab list or nametag. If you have no tier on the tierlist, no tag will show.
What do HT1, LT1, HT2, LT2 and the other tags mean?
These are tier rankings from the Vanilla PvP Tierlist, where HT means High Tier and LT means Low Tier. The number after the letters is the tier group, so HT1 is the highest and LT5 is the lowest.
How do I switch between sword, pot, nethpot, axe and smp tiers?
TierTagger supports multiple gamemode tierlists, and you can change which one is displayed through the mod's settings or config. Pick the gamemode you want and the tags will update to show that tierlist's rankings.
Can I view tiers from a different tierlist than mctiers?
Yes, TierTagger can display tiers from other supported tierlists besides the Vanilla PvP Tierlist. You select the tierlist you want in the mod's options, and the tags will reflect that source.
Why are TierTagger tags not showing for some players?
Tags only appear for players who actually have a ranking on the selected tierlist. If a player is unranked or their name does not match the tierlist entry, no tag will be shown for them.
How do I update TierTagger's tier data?
TierTagger updates its tier data automatically, so you generally do not need to do anything manually. If data looks stale, restarting the game or rejoining the server will trigger a fresh fetch.
Does TierTagger work on any server or only specific ones?
It works as a client-side mod, so it can display tiers on any server you join. The tags are rendered on your client and do not require the server to have the mod installed.
Will TierTagger cause lag or lower my FPS?
TierTagger is lightweight and mainly renders text tags, so performance impact is minimal for most players. If you notice issues, check that tier data has finished loading and that you are not running conflicting name-tag mods.
Does TierTagger conflict with other mods that change nametags or the tab list?
Mods that heavily modify nametags or the tab list can sometimes overlap or hide TierTagger's tags. If tags disappear or look wrong, try disabling other nametag or HUD mods to see if that resolves it.
