Tiers Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get the tier display to show up on my screen?
The HUD appears automatically once the mod detects a supported gamemode. If nothing shows, press Y to trigger automatic gamemode detection, or open the mod's config screen to enable the HUD and set its display position.
What does pressing Y actually do?
Y runs automatic gamemode detection, which identifies which ranking system (PvPTiers, MCTiers, or Subtiers) applies to your current server or game mode and switches the HUD to display that tier. It's the quickest way to get the correct tier showing without digging through settings.
How do I check another player's tier?
Use the command /tiers with the player's username. It returns their tier, points, global rank, region, and skin for the currently selected ranking system.
How do I see the tier of the player standing next to me?
Press H to open the nearby player screen, which shows the tier, points, rank, and other parameters of the closest player to you. This is handy in lobbies or duels where you want a quick read on an opponent.
Which ranking systems does the mod support?
It supports PvPTiers, MCTiers, and Subtiers. You can switch between them manually, and the mod can also auto-detect which one fits your current gamemode.
How do I switch between gamemodes on the HUD?
Press U and I to cycle quickly between the gamemodes the mod displays. You can also set which gamemode is shown by default in the mod's config.
Can I move the tier HUD or change how it looks?
Yes. The mod lets you customize the display position on the HUD, and you can pick from multiple icon styles and color palettes for tiers, including preset icons.
Why is my tier showing as unknown or not loading?
This usually means the mod hasn't detected a supported gamemode yet, or the player isn't ranked in the selected system. Press Y to re-run detection, or manually switch the displayed gamemode with U and I.
Does the mod work on any server, or only specific ones?
It works wherever the ranking systems it supports are in use, since it pulls tier data from PvPTiers, MCTiers, and Subtiers rather than the server itself. On servers or gamemodes not covered by those systems, the HUD won't have data to show.
Will this mod hurt my FPS or cause lag?
The mod is lightweight since it mainly renders a small HUD element and looks up tier data on demand. If you notice any impact, you can disable the HUD or reduce what it displays in the config.
