Threshold Protocol Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the settings menu for the first time?
Run /function disable_dimensions:config in chat to open the main settings menu. The menu appears as an in-game interface you can control with your mouse, and it stays open until you close it.
Can I block only the Nether but allow the End?
Yes. Open the settings menu with /function disable_dimensions:config, then click on individual dimension names to toggle them on or off independently. Changes apply instantly without restarting.
What happens when a player tries to enter a blocked dimension?
They are instantly teleported back to their entry point (or world spawn if coming from the Nether/End), see a message on their action bar, hear a sound effect, and briefly experience slowness. They also receive their normal dimension achievement as a reward.
Does this mod work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, it runs smoothly on multiplayer servers without causing lag or extra tick delays. All players see the same dimension restrictions based on the server's settings.
Can I let players access dimensions after they reach a certain achievement?
Yes. In the settings menu, add a custom condition rule based on achievements, and the mod will automatically unlock that dimension for players who meet the requirement.
What methods of dimension travel does this mod block?
It blocks all methods: walking through portal blocks, throwing ender pearls, riding minecarts through portals, and using teleport commands. There is no way around the restrictions.
Can I set different spawn points for players rejected from different dimensions?
The mod sends players back to their entry point or world spawn from the Nether, and to their bed or spawn from the End. You can set a custom fallback spawn point by standing at your preferred location and clicking Replace in the settings menu.
Does this mod work with custom modded dimensions?
Yes, it works with custom modded dimensions alongside standard vanilla worlds. You can manage access to any dimension through the settings menu.
Can I create rules based on player inventory items or game time?
Yes. The settings menu lets you set special conditions based on inventory items, elapsed in-game days, player gamemodes, team names, or scores. Dimensions will unlock automatically when players meet these conditions.
Do I need to restart my world or server when I change settings?
No. All changes in the settings menu apply instantly without requiring a world or server restart.
