How to Switch Between First and Third Person View

Toggling the Camera

Press F5 to cycle your perspective. The mod keeps the vanilla keybind, so you do not need to rebind anything. Each press moves you through the available views: first-person, then third-person, then back again. Because this is a client-side mod, the change is purely visual for you — the server and other players see your character normally.

Choosing the Right View

Use first-person when you need precise block placement, aiming, or reading small UI elements. Switch to third-person when you want to see your character's surroundings, check your skin, or get a wider sense of the space around you. If you are building or fighting, third-person can help you judge distances to nearby blocks and mobs.

If the View Feels Off

If movement looks jittery in third-person, the usual culprit is Optifine's Fast Math option. Open Options / Video Settings / Performance and turn Fast Math off. This restores smooth camera interpolation. Once disabled, toggling with F5 should feel fluid again.

Quick Recap

  • F5 cycles perspectives.
  • First-person for precision, third-person for awareness.
  • Disable Fast Math if the camera stutters.
