Theone’s Eating Animation Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get the eating animations to show up at all?
Make sure the resource pack is actually enabled in Options > Resource Packs and sits above any pack that also touches food item models. Animations only play while you're actively holding down the use button to eat, so a quick tap won't show much.
Why do my eating animations look static or frozen?
This usually means another resource pack is overriding the same food item models and winning the conflict. Drag Theone's pack above the conflicting pack in the resource pack list, or disable the other pack's food models.
Do eating animations work with modded food?
They work for any food that uses the vanilla eating animation system, which covers most modded and datapack foods. Foods with fully custom eating logic or their own animations may not be affected.
Can other players see my eating animation in multiplayer?
Yes, as long as those players also have the resource pack enabled on their client. Resource packs are client-side, so anyone without it will just see the default eating motion.
Why can't I see the animation in third person?
Third-person view shows the animation from the outside, so it can look subtler than first person. If it's completely missing, check that no other pack is overriding the player or item models.
Does this pack work with shaders?
Yes, eating animations are model and texture based, so they generally work fine alongside shaders. If something looks off, try toggling the pack order or updating your shader pack.
Will this mod affect my fps or performance?
It's a resource pack, not a mod, so the performance impact is minimal since it only swaps item models and textures. Any slowdown is more likely from shaders or other packs running at the same time.
Why did my animations stop working after adding another pack?
The new pack is probably overriding the same food item models. Move Theone's pack higher in the resource pack list so it takes priority.
Do I need to hold the eat button for the animation to play?
Yes, the animation plays while you're actively eating, so holding down the use button shows the full motion. Releasing early cuts it short.
Does it work on servers or only singleplayer?
It works anywhere because it's client-side, including servers, as long as the server doesn't force its own resource pack that overrides yours. If a server pack takes over, your animations may be replaced.
