Diagnosing Containment Issues

If animals are escaping when they shouldn't, or leashed animals won't pass through gates, the mod's algorithm may need adjustment.

Basic Troubleshooting

1. Verify the animal is unleashed: Check that no lead is attached if the animal should be contained

2. Check the gate type: Ensure you're using an actual fence gate, not just fences

3. Confirm the gate is open: The mod only affects gate passage; closed gates block everything

4. Test with vanilla animals: Try with cows or sheep to isolate whether the issue is mod-specific

5. Review your config: If using custom mobs or gates, check the configuration file for incorrect settings

Most issues stem from custom mobs that the algorithm doesn't recognize correctly. Refer to the configuration file documentation to whitelist or adjust behavior for specific entities.
