Thaumcraft Mod FAQ

Thaumcraft is a magic mod centered on studying the aspects of objects, harvesting vis and essentia, and using research, alchemy, infusion, and golems to craft powerful magical equipment. It lets you draw magical energy called Essentia from physical objects and reshape it to perform tasks.

It adds wands, the Thaumonomicon guide book, a research system, the Thaumometer, Aura Nodes, and magical equipment, along with alchemy, infusion, and golems. It also adds Essentia, a magical energy you extract from items and blocks.

Craft an Iron Capped Wooden Wand using a stick and some iron nuggets. Then place a regular bookshelf, hold your wand, and right-click the bookshelf to turn it into the Thaumonomicon.

Place a regular bookshelf anywhere in the world and right-click it while holding your wand. This transforms the bookshelf into the Thaumonomicon, your in-game guide book.
