Tfc Plus Bids Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start smelting metal with a crucible?
First craft a clay crucible, place it above a heat source like a firepit, and add ore or metal items to the ore slots. The crucible will display the current temperature and melted contents in your inventory screen as it heats up.
Why won't my firepit light?
This mod requires you to add kindling to the firepit before you can start a fire. Once lit, the firepit accepts more fuel types than vanilla, but you must use kindling for the initial ignition.
Can I mix different metals in one crucible?
Yes—the crucible will automatically mix different liquid metals together when you leave it alone, which is useful for creating alloys like bronze from tin and copper.
How do I use the metal blowpipe to make glass?
Hold the metal blowpipe and right-click to open the glass crafting menu, then follow the prompts to blow hot glass into bottles or other glass items.
What's the adze tool used for?
The adze peels bark off logs and shapes rough stone blocks. Press N while holding it to change your carving mode and switch between these two functions.
How do I build a log cabin?
Peel the bark off logs first using the adze, then place them in a wood pile to dry over time. Once dried, the logs lock together perfectly at the corners when you build your cabin walls.
How does the drying rack work?
Place the drying rack and add up to four items like meat, cheese, or seaweed to it. The items will dry over time, similar to how logs dry in a wood pile.
How do I get water from an underground well?
Build an underground well structure, then use a bucket and rope to pull up fresh water from it—this is more reliable than surface water sources.
What's the saddle quern for?
The saddle quern crushes corn and grains into flour, which you can then use to craft porridge and other grain-based foods.
Do I need to break ore into smaller pieces before smelting?
The mod lets you break large ore chunks into smaller bits, which melt much faster in the crucible—this is optional but speeds up smelting significantly.
