Prevent Terrain Clipping and Optimize Peak Generation
Understanding the Height Limit
The mod raises the world height to 1024 blocks to give mountains room to grow. However, if your vertical scale is too high, terrain can clip and look broken at the ceiling. The wiki recommends keeping vertical scale below 6.0 as a safe threshold.
Testing for Clipping
After adjusting vertical scale, fly to a mountain peak and check if the top looks natural or if it appears flat, jagged, or incomplete. If clipping occurs, reduce the vertical scale by 0.5–1.0 and regenerate test terrain. Repeat until peaks look complete.
Balancing Scale Settings
Don't maximize both vertical and horizontal scale at once. Extreme values in both directions can create unrealistic, chaotic terrain. A moderate vertical scale (3.0–5.0) paired with a moderate horizontal scale (1.0–2.0) typically produces visually coherent mountains. Test incrementally and compare results across multiple peaks to find your preferred balance.
