Find the Best Spawn Location Before Creating Your World
Using the Spawn Overlay
The Spawn Overlay visualizer shows you exactly where you'll spawn when you create your world, letting you plan your starting base location in advance.
1. Open world creation and go to the More tab
2. Click the preview button to open the map viewer
3. Switch to the Spawn Overlay visualizer mode
4. Look for the highlighted spawn areas on the map—these show potential player spawn points based on your current settings
5. Adjust the continentalness slider to see how spawn locations change
6. Positive continentalness values favor spawning on larger landmasses; negative values favor islands and smaller continents
7. Once you find a spawn location you like, note the seed (copy it with the one-click seed button) and apply your settings
Combining with Terrain Visualization
Switch between Spawn Overlay and other visualizers like Rivers and Mountains or Biomes to see what resources and terrain surround your spawn point. This helps you plan whether you'll have easy access to water, mountains for mining, or specific biomes you want nearby.
