Check Climate and Rainfall Before Settling a Region
Understanding Your World's Climate
The Temperature and Rainfall visualizers show climate patterns across your world, which affects crop growth, animal spawning, and biome characteristics.
1. Open the map preview and switch to Temperature Visualizer to see heat distribution
2. Warmer regions (shown in warmer colors) support different crops and animals than cold areas
3. Switch to Rainfall Visualizer to check precipitation levels
4. High rainfall areas are better for farming but may flood; low rainfall areas are drier
5. Combine both visualizers mentally—or switch between them—to find regions with balanced climate for your playstyle
6. Note that coastal areas often have moderate temperatures, while inland mountains can be extreme
Planning Agriculture and Herding
Different crops and animals thrive in specific temperature and rainfall ranges. Use these visualizers to locate regions suitable for the crops you want to grow or animals you want to breed. If you want diverse farming options, look for areas where temperature and rainfall zones meet, creating transitional biomes with varied resources.
