Write a Schematic to Teach Workbenches New Recipes
Understanding Schematics
Schematics are recipes that tell Tetra workbenches how to craft new tools, attach parts, or apply improvements. Without schematics, your custom materials and parts exist but can't be used.
Building Your Schematic
Inside hp_TetraDataEvents.queue(), define a schematic by specifying:
- Schematic name: A unique identifier
- Type: Whether it crafts a tool, attaches a part, or applies an improvement
- Outcome: What the player receives after completing the recipe
- Inputs: Materials, parts, or tools required
- Workbench level: Minimum workbench tier needed to use it
- Experience cost: How much XP the workbench consumes
Linking to Your Content
Reference your custom materials and parts by name. The schematic acts as the bridge between your registered content and what players can actually do in the world.
Verification
After /reload, visit a workbench. Your schematic should appear in the available recipes list if the workbench meets the level requirement. Players can then follow the recipe to craft or upgrade gear using your custom content.
