Add Custom Improvements to Gear
What Are Improvements?
Improvements are upgrades that attach to tool parts to enhance performance—adding effects, boosting stats, or changing behavior. You can create improvements for existing Tetra parts or your custom parts.
Registering an Improvement
Use hp_TetraDataEvents.queue() to define your improvement with:
- Improvement name: A unique identifier
- Target parts: Which part types accept this improvement
- Stat modifications: Changes to damage, speed, durability, or other attributes
- Effects: Special abilities (e.g., fire damage, knockback, life steal)
- Requirements: Materials or conditions needed to apply it
- Level or tier: How powerful the improvement is
Creating the Schematic
You must also register a schematic that teaches workbenches how to craft or attach your improvement. The schematic defines the recipe—what materials and parts are needed.
Testing
Run /reload and open a workbench with an existing tool. If your improvement schematic is valid, it should appear in the workbench's improvement menu, allowing you to apply it to compatible parts.
