Optimizing Mining Routes for Stone Variants
Efficient Stone Variant Collection
To gather andesite, diorite, and granite efficiently, plan your mining strategy around blob distribution patterns.
Mining Techniques
Branch mining: Create a main tunnel, then dig perpendicular branches at regular intervals. This exposes maximum stone surface area and helps you spot blobs quickly.
Vertical shafts: Dig straight down (with water bucket safety) to reach different stone layers, then mine horizontally. Blobs appear throughout multiple depths.
Cave exploration: Natural caves expose large stone areas. Follow cave systems and mine exposed blob formations as you encounter them.
Optimization Tips
- Bring a pickaxe and plenty of torches
- Mark blob locations mentally or with torches for later collection if your inventory fills
- Focus on one stone variant per trip if you need specific quantities
- Combine blob hunting with other mining goals (coal, iron, diamonds) for efficiency
Since ReStoned uses vanilla generation patterns, blobs are reasonably common. You shouldn't need to travel far to find adequate supplies for building projects.
