Terralith Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does the Terralith Data Pack do?
It is a world generation overhaul for Minecraft that adds over 85 unique biomes and dozens of custom structures using only vanilla blocks. It also reworks almost every vanilla biome and adds new terrain like canyons, floating islands and ocean trenches.
How many biomes does Terralith add?
The wiki says over 85 unique biomes, while the 9Minecraft article says more than 95 new biomes. Either way, it also reworks almost every vanilla biome.
Does Terralith add new blocks or items?
No. Terralith uses only vanilla blocks, so nothing looks out of place next to normal world generation.
Does Terralith add new structures?
Yes. It adds structures that fit the biome they spawn in, such as the Spire in icy biomes, Fortified Villages in plains and desert, and the Glacial Hut.
Does Terralith add cave biomes?
Yes. It puts custom cave biomes underground, including the Underground Jungle, Infested Caves, Fungal Caves and Frostfire Caves.
Can I add Terralith to an existing world?
No. You should start a brand new world with the pack already loaded, because adding it to a world you have played for a while is a bad idea.
Can I remove Terralith from my world?
No. Once the world exists, the pack cannot be taken out of it again.
Does Terralith work with other biome mods?
It works next to most biome-adding mods when Terrablender or an equivalent is in place. Other biome-adding data packs usually fight over the same biome slots, so skip those.
Does Terralith work with Tectonic?
Pick Terratonic instead of Tectonic if you want that terrain pack as well, because the data pack versions of the two clash.
What are the Terralith add-on packs?
The official add-on packs can turn off the structures, take out the intro message, add a few extra stone recipes, or bring back the vanilla stone blobs. Load them above Terralith in the pack order or they will not do anything.
