How do I craft my first hammer?
Type /trigger show_recipes_in_chat to see all hammer crafting layouts in your chat, then gather the required tool materials (iron, gold, diamond, or netherite) and craft at a regular crafting table. Once crafted, equip the hammer in your main hand and you're ready to mine.
What's the difference between the hammer tiers?
The mod includes four hammer tiers made from iron, gold, diamond, and netherite materials. Higher-tier hammers are more durable and mine faster, but all tiers break blocks in the same area patterns regardless of material.
Can I mine single blocks without breaking a 3x3 area?
Yes—crouch (sneak) while mining to break only one block at a time, as long as sneak bypass is enabled. Use /function datapack:juix_datapacks/toggle_sneak_bypass to turn this safety feature on or off.
How do I change the hammer's mining area size?
Run /function datapack:hammers_datapack/change_mining_power to open the settings menu, where you can adjust your hammer's dig width and depth from the standard 3×3 up to larger patterns like 5×5×3.
Do hammers give normal block drops?
Yes, the data pack is designed to work with regular survival drops, so you'll collect stone, ore, and other materials normally as you break blocks with your hammer.
Why isn't my hammer breaking blocks in a wide area?
Make sure the hammer is equipped in your main hand (not offhand), you're in Survival mode, and you're not crouching—if sneak bypass is on, crouching will mine only single blocks. Check your mining power setting with /function datapack:hammers_datapack/change_mining_power to confirm it's not set to 1×1.
Can I use hammers in Creative mode?
The data pack is designed for Survival mode; Creative mode behavior is not guaranteed and may not work as intended.
Does this mod work with other mining mods or datapacks?
Compatibility depends on how other mods or datapacks modify block breaking; test them together in a backup world first to avoid conflicts or unexpected behavior.
Will using hammers cause lag or performance issues?
Breaking large areas at once can impact performance depending on your world size and hardware, especially if you're mining very large zones repeatedly—adjust your mining area size smaller if you experience slowdowns.
