The Problem the Mod Solves

In vanilla, the experience cost of anvil operations and enchanting table use climbs as your level goes up, so a player with a high level pays far more than a low-level player for the same action. Tax Free Levels flattens that curve above a certain point, so the price you pay stays constant regardless of how much experience you've accumulated.

Doing Anvil Work at a Fixed Price

1. Open an anvil with your item and the repair material or enchanted book.

2. Combine or repair as normal.

3. Look at the level cost displayed next to the result — it should no longer scale upward just because your level is high.

4. Take the result to complete the operation.

Enchanting Table Use

1. Place your enchanting table with bookshelves arranged as usual for the enchantment tiers you want.

2. Insert your item and lapis lazuli.

3. The experience cost shown for each option is based on the enchantment itself rather than your current level, so you can enchant at high levels without the price exploding.

Practical Notes

• The mod also lifts the "Too Expensive!" restriction, so combinations that vanilla would refuse are now allowed.
• Keep your lapis and repair materials stocked so you can take advantage of the flat pricing whenever you want.
