Tails Legacy Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the Tails Editor?
Press Escape to open the pause menu, then click the Tails Editor button. This opens the dedicated menu where you can select and customize your parts.
Why can't other players see my accessories on the server?
Both the server and your client need the mod installed for accessories to sync in multiplayer. If the server doesn't have the mod, your parts will only be visible to you.
Can I use different accessory setups in different worlds?
Yes, you can save multiple setups to the built-in library system and load whichever one you want for any world. Your saved loadouts are stored externally and persist across all your worlds.
How do I change the color of my tail or wings?
In the Tails Editor, select your part and use the color pickers to adjust up to three tints per accessory. Click Apply to save your color changes to that part.
Do arrows show up on my accessories during combat?
Yes, arrows that hit your tails and accessories will stick to them visually during combat, just like they do on your character model.
What happens if I load a custom accessory that doesn't exist?
If a resource pack with custom accessories is removed or disabled, those parts won't appear in your editor or on your character until the resource pack is loaded again.
Can I add my own custom accessories through resource packs?
Yes, the mod supports custom community accessories loaded directly through resource packs. You'll need to follow the resource pack format the mod uses to add new parts.
Does this mod work with Botania?
Yes, if you have Botania installed, Tiny Potatoes named Foxtato will display fox ears and a tail as a cosmetic feature.
Will equipping accessories affect my gameplay or movement?
No, accessories are purely cosmetic and don't change your movement speed, jumping, or any other gameplay mechanics.
Can I save and share my accessory loadouts with other players?
Your loadouts are saved to an external file that you can back up or transfer, but other players would need to manually import the file to use your exact setup.
