Understanding Combat Debris and Environmental Feedback
Reading the Battlefield
After firefights, the environment tells a story. Bullet holes and scorch marks appear on walls and blocks where rounds impacted. Glass shatters into destructible pieces when shot, creating visual feedback and additional cover. Shell casings litter the ground, marking where you and enemies fired from. Blood mists and splatters appear on surfaces when mobs take damage, showing hit locations.
Using Debris Tactically
Bullet holes and impact marks help you identify enemy firing positions and understand engagement angles. Shattered glass creates new sightlines and cover opportunities. Shell casings on the ground are harmless but realistic—they don't affect gameplay but add immersion.
Environmental Effects
Heavy gunfire fills indoor spaces with smoke, reducing visibility for all combatants. This smoke can work in your favor if you're prepared with a gas mask. Ricochets and bullet-passing sounds provide audio cues about incoming fire direction. Use these environmental clues to locate threats and adjust your position accordingly. The cumulative effect of debris and smoke creates dynamic, evolving combat spaces.
