TaCZ Optimization Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Where do I find the config file to change settings?
Close Minecraft and navigate to your .minecraft folder, then open the config subfolder. Look for the file named tacz_optimization-client.toml and open it with any text editor like Notepad.
How do I turn off bullet tracers?
Open tacz_optimization-client.toml and find the setting for bullet tracers or projectile rendering. Change it from true to false, save the file, and restart your game.
Can I hide only enemy weapons but keep mine visible?
Yes—the config file has separate toggles for your own bullets/weapons and other players' weapons. You can disable enemy gun rendering while keeping your own first-person view intact.
Will this mod get me banned on multiplayer servers?
No, this mod runs only on your client side and doesn't modify server files or give you unfair advantages like aimbots. It's purely a visual optimization tool that other players won't detect.
What HUD elements can I turn off?
You can disable the ammo counter, heat bar, kill feed, interaction buttons, and gun HUD—each has its own toggle in the config file so you can customize exactly what you want to see.
I edited the config but nothing changed in-game. What's wrong?
Make sure you saved the file after editing and fully closed and restarted Minecraft. The game reads the config when it launches, so changes won't apply until you restart.
Does this mod work with other TaCZ addons?
Yes, this optimization mod is designed to work alongside Timeless and Classics Zero without conflicts. It only hides visuals on your end and doesn't interfere with other mods' functionality.
Will disabling gun effects actually improve my FPS?
Yes, especially during large multiplayer fights where many players are shooting—hiding enemy weapons, bullet casings, and tracers removes significant rendering load from your GPU.
Can I hide the kill feed but keep the ammo counter?
Absolutely—each screen element has its own true/false setting in the config, so you can mix and match which HUD parts to show or hide based on your preference.
What if I mess up the config file and the mod stops working?
Delete the broken tacz_optimization-client.toml file and restart Minecraft—it will generate a fresh config with default settings. You can then re-customize it from there.
