Why Collect Spent Brass?

Dropped shell casings and empty magazines are full physics entities that pile up during combat. Collecting them lets you repurpose materials or simply clean up your firing range.

How to Gather Casings and Magazines

1. After firing or reloading, look around your feet and the surrounding area. Shell casings eject to the side of your weapon and bounce realistically across terrain.

2. Walk over the items to pick them up—they function like normal drops and enter your inventory.

3. For bolt-action and lever-action rifles, casings stay in the chamber until you manually work the bolt or lever. Fire, then cycle the action to eject the casing.

4. Shotguns and revolvers drop spent shells during the reload animation itself, so watch the ground during manual reloads.

5. Extended magazines drop with their full model intact, making them easy to spot among regular casings.

Storage Tips

Casings and magazines stack in your inventory like ammunition. Store them in chests near your shooting range or ammunition crafting area. Some modpacks may allow you to recycle these materials into new ammunition or components—check your mod's crafting recipes.
