TACZ Magazine and Casing Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to pick up dropped casings and magazines or do they disappear?
Dropped casings and magazines are purely visual and physics-based entities—they don't need to be collected and will eventually despawn like other dropped items. You can leave them on the ground for atmosphere, or use commands to clean them up if performance becomes an issue.
Why aren't my shell casings ejecting when I fire?
Make sure the mod is enabled and that you're using a compatible weapon from TACZ or a supported gunpack. Some weapon types (like revolvers during normal fire) may not eject casings until you manually reload, which is intentional behavior.
How do I control where casings and magazines land?
Ejection direction and speed are determined by your weapon type and firing stance—you can't manually adjust them, but different weapons have different ejection patterns. Bolt-action rifles, for example, hold casings until you work the bolt, while semi-auto weapons eject immediately.
Will this mod work with my custom gunpack?
The mod is compatible with TACZ-based gunpacks like Classics Reborn, RABasya Firepower Pack, and Hare Tactics Pack. If your gunpack uses TACZ weapons, casings and magazines should drop automatically; if it doesn't work, the gunpack may not be fully TACZ-compatible.
Can I turn off magazine drops but keep shell casings?
Check your mod configuration file for separate toggles for casing ejection and magazine drops—most TACZ mods allow granular control over which physics entities spawn.
Do casings and magazines affect server performance?
Yes, many dropped entities can impact performance, especially during extended combat or on servers with many players. Consider adjusting entity despawn time or disabling the feature entirely if you experience lag.
Why do shotguns and revolvers behave differently than rifles?
Shotguns and revolvers drop their spent shells during manual reload actions rather than automatically ejecting, which mirrors real-world manual firearm mechanics. This is intentional design to reflect how these weapon types actually function.
Do extended magazine attachments change the dropped magazine model?
Yes, the mod automatically adjusts the physical magazine model to match your attachment setup, so an extended magazine will look visibly larger when it drops.
Can I collect dropped magazines and reuse them?
The dropped magazines are visual entities only and cannot be picked up and reloaded into weapons—they're purely for immersion and environmental detail.
What happens to casings and magazines in multiplayer?
All players see the same dropped casings and magazines, and they behave consistently across the network, though high entity counts may still cause lag depending on your server's performance settings.
