Tab Tweaks Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the Tab Tweaks config?
Open your mod menu (usually by pressing a key like M or through your mod loader's menu), find Tab Tweaks, and click on it to access the configuration options. All settings are organized into categories like Visual, Position, and Colors for easy navigation.
Can I hide just the player heads without removing other elements?
Yes, use the "Remove Heads" option to hide all player heads, or use "Remove NPC Heads Only" if you want to keep heads for real players and only hide NPC/bot heads.
Why is my ping showing as a bar instead of numbers?
Enable "Show Numerical Ping" in the config to display your ping as a number instead of a bar. You can also customize the scale of the numerical display separately.
How do I move the tab list to a different position on my screen?
Use the "Position Tab" setting to choose where the tab list appears, and adjust "Scale" to make it larger or smaller. The "Move Tab List Down" and "Move Tab List Below Bossbars" options let you fine-tune vertical placement.
Can I change the color of individual ping ranges?
Yes, the mod lets you set custom colors for different ping ranges: 0-75, 75-145, 145-200, 200-300, 300-400, and above 400, so high-ping players stand out visually.
What's the difference between removing the header and footer?
The header appears at the top of the tab list and typically shows server information, while the footer appears at the bottom and often shows messages or motd text. You can remove either or both independently.
Does Tab Tweaks work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, Tab Tweaks is a client-side mod, so it works on any server without requiring the server to have the mod installed. Your customizations only affect your own view of the tab list.
Can I customize the colors of the player names and ping separately?
Yes, you can set "Player Widget Color" for the player names area and "Ping Color" for the ping display independently, plus customize the overall "Body Color" of the tab list background.
What does 'Remove Objectives' do?
This option hides the scoreboard objectives that normally appear on the right side of the tab list, cleaning up the display if you don't need to see score information.
Will Tab Tweaks affect my performance or FPS?
Tab Tweaks is a lightweight visual mod that only modifies the HUD display, so it has minimal to no impact on your game's performance or frame rate.
