TAA Project Shaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the shader after installing it?
Launch Minecraft and the shader should be active by default once installed correctly. If you don't see the visual changes, check your video settings to ensure shaders are enabled and the mod is loaded in your mod list.
What's the difference between TAA and regular anti-aliasing?
TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) uses information from previous frames to smooth jagged edges, which is lighter on your GPU than traditional methods. This is why TAA Project Shaders can run smoothly on older hardware while still reducing those blocky-looking edges.
Why does my screen look blurry or ghosty?
This is usually caused by TAA intensity being too high or motion blur settings being too aggressive. Lower the TAA intensity in your shader settings or disable motion blur to see if the artifact disappears.
Can I use this shader with other mods?
TAA Project Shaders is generally compatible with most mods, but conflicts can occur with other shader packs or mods that heavily modify rendering. Disable any other shaders and test one mod at a time if you experience crashes.
My FPS dropped a lot after installing this. How do I fix it?
Try lowering render distance, disabling motion blur, or reducing TAA intensity in the shader settings. If you're on very old hardware, check the performance optimization guide for low-end systems.
Does this shader change the way blocks look?
No, TAA Project Shaders keeps the vanilla block appearance intact—it only improves lighting and smooths edges. Your world will look like classic Minecraft, just cleaner and better lit.
What's motion blur and should I use it?
Motion blur smooths movement on screen but can cause ghosting or blurriness if set too high. Try it at low settings first; if it bothers you or causes artifacts, disable it entirely.
Can I adjust individual shader settings or is it all-or-nothing?
You can customize TAA intensity, motion blur, and lighting settings through the shader options menu. Access these by opening your video settings and looking for the shader configuration option.
Why do some areas look darker or lighter than before?
TAA Project Shaders improves the lighting system to make the world brighter and more balanced overall. If specific areas look wrong, check that your brightness and gamma settings haven't been reset.
Will this shader work on servers or only single-player?
Shaders only affect your client-side visuals, so they work on servers without any issues. Other players won't see your shader effects, and the server won't be affected by your graphics settings.
