Reduce Jagged Edges and Improve Visual Smoothness
Understanding TAA Anti-Aliasing
TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) is built into this shader to smooth jagged edges on block outlines and terrain features. This smoothing applies to both nearby chunks and distant terrain rendered by Distant Horizons.
Enabling and Configuring TAA
1. Open Shader Settings from your Video Options.
2. Locate the TAA or Anti-Aliasing section.
3. Ensure TAA is enabled—it should be active by default.
4. Some versions allow adjustment of TAA intensity or jitter amount. If available, experiment with these values to find the smoothest appearance without introducing blur or ghosting artifacts.
Observing Results
Move your camera or walk around to see TAA in action. Block edges should appear smoother and less pixelated compared to vanilla Minecraft, especially noticeable on distant terrain. If you notice motion blur or trailing effects, reduce TAA intensity slightly. The effect is most visible when looking at terrain far away, where jagged lines would normally be pronounced.
