Change the Color of Existing Armor Trim

Swap Out Your Trim Color

If you want to keep your current trim pattern but change its color, you don't need to start over.

1. Open a Smithing Table

2. Place your already-trimmed armor piece in the left slot

3. Leave the middle slot empty

4. Place your new color material in the right slot (Cake, Ender Pearl, Slime Ball, Dragon's Breath, etc.)

5. Collect your armor with the updated color

Quick Color Swaps

This method lets you experiment with different color materials without losing your pattern. Try various mob drops and food items to see which colors work best with your chosen pattern. Since you're using common items instead of rare templates, you can change your armor's appearance as often as you like without resource penalties.
