How do I open the symbol panel in chat?
Click the small symbol button next to the chat input box to open the Symbol Panel. From there, pick a tab like Faces & People or Kaomojis and click any symbol to insert it into your message.
Do other players need this mod to see my symbols?
No. The mod is client-side only, so the symbols and Unicode fonts you send appear as normal text to everyone, even players without the mod installed.
How do I use the :keyword quick suggestions?
Type a colon followed by a keyword, such as :cro, in the chat box and a suggestion list will pop up. Click or select the symbol you want to insert it directly into your message.
Can I use symbols on signs, books, and anvils too?
Yes. The symbol button appears in the chat, sign, book, and anvil screens, so you can insert the same symbols anywhere text can be entered.
How do I add a symbol to my Favorites tab?
Open the Symbol Panel, find the symbol you want, and use the favorite option on it to save it to the Favorites tab. Your favorites are customizable and persist between sessions.
How do Unicode fonts work and will other players see them?
Unicode Fonts convert your typed text into stylized Unicode characters that display the same way for all players. Select a font from the font options and your chat text will be transformed before sending.
Why aren't my symbols showing up when I type them?
Make sure you are inserting symbols through the Symbol Panel or the :keyword suggestion list rather than typing raw codes. Some symbols may also not render if your font or resource pack does not support them.
Can I add my own custom symbols and kaomojis?
Yes. The mod lets you add your own symbols and kaomojis through its customization options, and you can also open the full Unicode table for advanced editing.
Does this mod work on servers and with other chat mods?
Because it is client-side, it works on any server without server-side installation. It generally coexists with other chat mods, though overlapping chat UI features may need to be adjusted in config.
Will the Symbol Chat Mod hurt my performance?
The mod is lightweight and mainly affects the chat and text input screens, so performance impact is minimal. If you notice lag, try reducing the number of custom symbols or disabling HUD tweaks in the settings.
