Sylvan Timber Heart FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using this mod?
Plant saplings from the new tree species you find or craft, then wait for them to grow in their appropriate biome zones (alpine, swamp, or normal forest). Once trees mature, you can harvest logs, tap them for syrup and rubber, or collect wood for building.
What's the difference between regular trees and old growth trees?
Old growth trees are massive variants that spawn naturally in the world and drop special log types with balanced yields. They're rarer and larger than regular trees, making them good targets for bulk wood collection.
How do I tap a tree for syrup and rubber?
Use the appropriate tapping tool on a living tree trunk to harvest sweet syrup or sticky rubber. Check the tapping guide for which trees yield which resources and any cooldown between harvests.
Why aren't my saplings growing?
Saplings only grow in their correct forest zone—alpine trees need alpine biomes, swamp trees need swamp biomes, and so on. Make sure you're planting in the right zone and giving the sapling enough
light and space.
light and space. Can I use these woods with TerraFirmaCraft recipes?
Yes, the new wood types integrate with TerraFirmaCraft's crafting system. Logs and planks from Sylvan Timber Heart trees work in standard wood recipes alongside vanilla and TerraFirmaCraft woods.
Do multiple tree species drop the same logs?
Yes, several tree variants are designed to drop identical log types so you can mix different species in the same area without cluttering your storage with unique wood stacks.
When do flowering trees bloom?
Certain trees bloom with bright colors during spring, adding seasonal variety to your world. The blooms are purely visual and don't affect harvesting or growth.
How many wood colors does this mod add?
The mod adds over a dozen distinct wood colors across species like Araucaria, Beech, Eucalyptus, Mahogany, Teak, and many others, giving you plenty of palette options for building.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod adds many tree variants and forest generation, so performance depends on your system and other mods. If you experience slowdowns, try reducing render distance or disabling some tree species in the config.
Can I find these trees in existing worlds or only new ones?
New forest zones and tree species generate in newly explored chunks, but existing chunks won't retroactively gain the new trees. You'll need to explore new terrain to find all the mod's content.
