Understand the Dialog Box Layout and Components

Dialog Box Structure

SVDialog Mod reorganizes NPC dialogue into three main visual components:

Key Elements

Portrait Section: Located on the left side of the dialog box, displays the NPC's character image.

Nameplate: Sits directly below the portrait with a colored or styled background. Shows the NPC's name clearly.

Text Area: The main dialogue content appears to the right of the portrait, displaying what the NPC is saying.

Visual Design

The entire layout mimics Stardew Valley's dialogue system, creating a consistent look across compatible modpacks. Text wraps naturally within the box, and multiple dialogue lines can be read by clicking through them sequentially.

Compatibility

This layout works with any NPC that supports custom dialogue, including quest-givers, merchants, and story characters. The mod automatically formats their dialogue into this new style.
