How to Fix Common SVC Voice Chat Problems on Lunar Client

No Microphone Icon or Menu Won't Open

If the voice chat icon is missing from your HUD, the mod likely isn't loading properly with Lunar Client. Make sure SVC is placed in the correct mod folder that Lunar Client reads from, and that it's enabled in your Lunar Client mod list. If the icon appears but the settings menu won't open, your keybind may conflict with another mod or Lunar feature. Rebind the voice chat menu key to something unused, like an uncommon key combination, and try again.

Can't Hear Others or Others Can't Hear You

This is the most common issue and usually comes down to device selection. Open the voice chat settings and verify the correct input and output devices are chosen. Operating systems sometimes switch default devices when you plug in a headset. Check your OS sound settings too — if Minecraft or Lunar Client is muted at the system level, the mod can't override that. For output problems, confirm the voice output volume slider isn't at zero and that you haven't accidentally muted individual players through the mod's player list.

Choppy Audio, Echo, or Disconnects

Choppy voice usually means bandwidth or CPU strain. Lower the audio quality setting in the voice chat menu. Echo typically means your microphone is picking up your speakers — switch to headphones or enable noise suppression. If voice chat disconnects while the game stays connected, the server's voice port may be blocked by a firewall or the server may not support the mod. Confirm the server actually runs Simple Voice Chat before troubleshooting further.
