Check Your Map Exploration Progress

Viewing Exploration Status

Run /surveyor to display comprehensive information about your current map exploration. This command shows you which areas you've discovered, your sharing status with other players, and general statistics about your mapped terrain.

Understanding Recorded Data

Surveyor tracks multiple types of map data as you explore: terrain information (including block height, biome type, light levels, and water depth), structures you encounter (with their IDs, pieces, and NBT data), and landmarks you or others have placed. The mod records this data across multiple layers, allowing you to view both surface maps and underground cave systems or Nether dimensions separately.

Efficient Storage

Despite tracking this detailed information, Surveyor only adds a small amount to your world's save file—typically between 2-5%. The mod uses an optimized storage format that keeps data compact both in memory and on disk, so exploration tracking won't significantly impact your world's performance or file size.
