How to Vanish and Reappear as a Staff Member in SuperVanish

Using the Vanish Command

SuperVanish is built around a single core command that toggles your visibility. Type /vanish (often aliased as /v) to disappear from the server as other players see it. When you vanish, your name is removed from the tab playerlist, your body becomes fully invisible, and any join message tied to your arrival is suppressed. If you have the sv.see permission, you will still see yourself as a translucent ghost so you know where you are standing.

To come back, run the same command again. SuperVanish will restore your tab entry, make you visible, and — if configured — broadcast a fake join message so the server thinks you just connected.

Checking Your State

If you are unsure whether you are currently vanished, run /vanish and watch the chat feedback. The plugin sends a configurable message confirming your new state. You can also check the tab list: if your name is missing while other players are listed, you are hidden.

Tips for Staff

  • Vanish before teleporting to a suspect so you do not appear in their tab list mid-investigation.
  • Remember that vanished players cannot pick up items by default, so drop your loot before vanishing if you plan to gather.
  • Damage is typically disabled while vanished — useful for spectating dangerous situations without dying.
