How to Let Specific Players See Vanished Staff (sv.see Permission)

Granting Ghost Vision

SuperVanish hides vanished players from everyone by default, but staff often need a second pair of eyes. The permission node sv.see allows a player to view vanished users as semi-transparent ghosts. This is ideal for moderators who need to coordinate with a vanished admin without blowing their cover to regular players.

Setting It Up

1. Open your permissions plugin (LuckPerms, PermissionsEx, or similar).

2. Create or edit the group that should receive ghost vision — for example, a moderator group.

3. Add the permission sv.see to that group.

4. Have the affected players relog or run your permissions plugin's refresh command.

Once granted, those players will see vanished staff as ghosts, while normal players continue to see nothing at all. The ghost appearance itself is configurable in the SuperVanish config — you can adjust how transparent the vanished player appears.

Important Notes

  • sv.see does not let a player vanish themselves; it only reveals others who are already vanished.
  • Hacked clients cannot detect vanished players even with this permission, because the server simply does not send their entity data to unauthorized clients.
  • If a moderator with sv.see is themselves vanished, other sv.see holders will see them as a ghost too.
