Enhance Water Reflections and Clarity

Locate Water Settings

Open shader options and find the water quality section. This controls reflection rendering and water surface appearance.

Adjust Reflection Quality

• Water Reflection Strength: Increases how prominently the sky, sun, and surroundings reflect on water surfaces. Higher values create mirror-like water.
• Water Clarity/Transparency: Controls how far you can see into water. Increase for clearer underwater visibility; decrease for murkier, more atmospheric water.
• Wave Height: Adjusts the amplitude of water surface movement. Subtle waves look natural; exaggerated waves create dramatic effects.

Optimize for Your System

Reflection quality is performance-intensive. If reflections cause stuttering, lower the reflection strength or clarity setting. Wave height has minimal impact on performance.

Test Your Changes

Stand near large bodies of water—oceans, lakes, or rivers—to observe how sunlight interacts with the surface. Adjust until the water matches your preferred aesthetic.
