Sunlitshaders FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable Sunlitshaders after installing it?
Open the Shaders menu from Video Settings, then browse to your shaders folder and select Sunlitshaders from the list. The shader will apply immediately to your world.
Why does my world look too dark with this shader?
Sunlitshaders uses a darker, film-like mood by design. You can brighten your world by adjusting the shadow intensity in the shader settings, or by increasing your monitor's brightness.
Can I turn off the bloom effect?
Yes—open the shader options menu and look for bloom or glow settings, where you can reduce or disable the soft bloom effect around light sources.
Why is my water not reflecting light properly?
Water reflections depend on your shader settings and render distance. Check the water reflection options in the shader menu and ensure your render distance is set high enough to see reflective details.
Does Sunlitshaders work with other mods?
Sunlitshaders is compatible with most mods, but mods that heavily alter lighting or add custom blocks may cause visual conflicts. Test your mod combination in a test world first.
How do I customize the sunrise and sunset colors?
Access the shader options menu and look for sky or atmosphere settings where you can adjust sunrise and sunset color values to match your preference.
Why are my shadows flickering or looking strange?
Shadow artifacts can occur if shadow intensity is too high or if your graphics card struggles with the settings. Try reducing shadow softness or intensity, or lower your render distance.
Will this shader affect my FPS?
Sunlitshaders adds realistic lighting and effects, so it will reduce FPS compared to vanilla Minecraft. Lowering shadow quality, bloom intensity, or render distance can improve performance.
Can I use Sunlitshaders on servers?
Shaders are client-side only, so you can use Sunlitshaders on any server without affecting other players or requiring server installation.
How do I make the waving foliage more or less pronounced?
Open the shader settings and find the foliage or animation options, where you can adjust the wave intensity and speed to your liking.
