Adjust Shadow Intensity and Softness

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing Right Shift (or your configured key) while in-game, then select the shader pack name to reveal per-shader settings.

Modify Shadow Parameters

Look for shadow-related sliders:

• Shadow Distance: Controls how far shadows render from your position. Increase for larger shadow coverage, decrease to improve performance.
• Shadow Softness: Adjusts the blur applied to shadow edges. Higher values create softer, more cinematic shadows; lower values produce sharper, more defined shadows.
• Shadow Brightness: Lightens or darkens shadowed areas. Increase if caves and tree shadows feel too dark.

Performance vs. Quality

If you experience lag, reduce shadow distance first. Softness and brightness adjustments have minimal performance impact. Test changes by standing under trees or structures to see real-time shadow behavior.

Save and Apply

Changes apply immediately. Close the menu to return to your world.
