Sulfur Cubes Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get my first sulfur cube to absorb a block?
Place a sulfur cube on the ground next to any supported block (like a crafting table, sea lantern, or cactus). The cube will automatically absorb the block and take on its properties. You don't need to craft anything—just proximity and placement.
Can I pick up a workstation cube after I place it?
Yes. Hold Shift and right-click the workstation cube to pick it back up as an item. This lets you move your portable crafting station wherever you need it.
What happens if I put a sulfur cube in water?
If it's a regular cube, nothing special happens. However, if it's a Dried Ghast cube, submerging it in water will hydrate it and spawn a baby Happy Ghast inside the cube, which will grow over time.
How do I free a grown ghast from its cube?
Use shears on a fully grown ghast cube. This will release the adult Happy Ghast and drop a giant tier 4 sulfur cube that you can collect.
Do redstone cubes need to be powered to emit a signal?
No. Redstone cubes that have absorbed a redstone block act as an active power source on their own, sending redstone signals in all six directions without needing external power.
Can I use multiple different block types in one sulfur cube?
No. Each sulfur cube absorbs one block type and takes on that block's properties. If you want multiple effects, you'll need multiple cubes.
Do cactus cubes hurt me if I touch them?
Yes. Cactus cubes deal damage to anything that touches them, including you. They also hurt enemies that punch them, making them useful for traps or defense.
What blocks work as portable workstations?
Crafting tables, anvils, and looms can all be absorbed by sulfur cubes to create portable workstations. Right-click the cube to open the workstation menu.
Do glowing cubes need redstone to emit light?
No. Cubes that absorb glowing blocks like Sea Lanterns or Froglights automatically emit real light into your world without any power source needed.
What's the difference between smaller and larger TNT cubes?
TNT sulfur cubes trigger their fuse instantly when hit directly, but larger cubes create much bigger explosions than smaller ones, making them more powerful for demolition or traps.
